Before the course
Pre-course work is an integral part of the program and forms part of the course. To ensure you get the most out of the program please undertake the following tasks:
After completing your questionnaire determine what are your strengths and where would you like to develop. Identify your outcomes for this course
In your workplace - where do you negotiate? Identify 3 examples of negotiations you are involved in, in the workplace

After 2 weeks
To maximize your learning and development it is recommended that you complete the activities below.
The art of asking probing questions is essential to being a great negotiator. Practise your skills of asking probing questions.
Print out a summary of the questions and place it somewhere in your view.
Throughout your day take at lest one opportunity to engage in a conversation where you use these questions to uncover quality information.
Explain the concept of principled and positional negotiation to a colleague or your manager. Together discuss when it is appropriate to use each of the methods.

After 4 weeks
The following activities will support you in your goal to being an effective negotiator.
Identify at least 2 negotiations you will complete over the next month
For each of the meetings complete a planning sheet to help you prepare. See your workbook.
After the meetings complete the ‘Negotiation Review Sheet’ to evaluate where you have improved and where you can strengthen. See your workbook.
Discuss your review with your manager.
