Certificate II in Information Technology ​

The Certificate II in Information Technology qualification provides foundation computing skills for an individual to be effective in an IT environment. This is specifically for those at a junior level, such as working at a help desk, records management, or an IT department.

Obtaining the qualification

Certificate II in Information Technology requires the completion of 14 units:

  • 8 core units
  • 6 elective units

8 core units:

  • Follow workplace safety procedures
  • Design organisational documents using computing packages
  • Operate computing hardware
  • Operate computing packages
  • Integrate commercial computing packages
  • Use computer operating systems
  • Work effective in an IT environment
  • Communicate in the workplace 
Elective units:
Because TP3 delivers this qualification as an in-house course, you can choose the elective units that best suit your organisation. 

Learning options
You can complete the ICA20105 Certificate II in Information Technology with TP3 in 2 ways:
  1. Participating in a group in-house course exclusive to your organisation
  2. Having your prior learning and existing skills recognised through RPL.
