In this module you will look at the roles and responsibilities managers have to be organised, focussed and skilled, in order to effectively manage the work of others. This can have a significant influence on the work culture and patterns of behaviour.
Mobilising a Team & Managing Talent
Ensure team effectiveness (BSBWOR502B)
This module applies to managers and addresses the need for managers to facilitate work teams and to build a positive culture within work teams. In this module you will learn a systematic and planned approach to developing teams. It includes the soft skills as well as more structured approaches to the management of teams.
Undertake project work (BSBPMG522A)
In this module you will learn the skills and knowledge required to undertake a straightforward project or a section of a larger project. This module addresses the management of projects, including developing a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalising the project, and reviewing the project to identify lessons learned for application to future projects. As a manager you will learn project management skills such as the ability to meet timelines, quality standards, budgetary limits and other requirements set for the project.

This module applies to people who manage the work of others and operate within the parameters of a broader strategic and/or business plan. The task of the manager at this level is to develop and implement an operational plan to ensure that the objectives and strategies outlined in the strategic and/or business plan are met by work teams.
Delivering Dynamic Presentations

As a manager you will make presentations for a range of purposes, such as marketing, training, promotions, etc. This module will help you develop your presentation skills and knowledge to improve communication in presenting a range of concepts and ideas.
Ensuring Commercial Success & Embedding Leadership
Manage budgets and financial plans (BSBFIM501A)
In this module you will develop skills and knowledge required to undertake financial management within a work team in an organisation. This includes planning and implementing financial management approaches, supporting team members whose role involves aspects of financial operations, monitoring and controlling finances, and reviewing and evaluating effectiveness of financial management processes in line with the financial objectives of the work team and the organisation.
Manage people performance (BSBMGT502B)
In this module you will develop skills and knowledge required to manage the performance of staff who report to you directly. Development of key result areas and key performance indicators and standards, coupled with regular and timely coaching and feedback, provide the basis for performance management.
Ensuring Workplace Safety
Ensure a safe workplace (BSBWHS501A)
In this module you will develop skills and knowledge required to establish, maintain and evaluate the organisation’s work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area according to WHS legislative requirements.
You can complete the qualification with TP3 in the following ways:
- Enrol in a public course with people from different organsiations
Complete face to face training as an in-house group exclusive to your organisation
Upgrade from the Certificate IV in Frontline Management
Have your prior learning and existing skills recognised through RPL
To attain this qualification, you complete assessment activities in class and at work, which must be marked as competent. Assessments typically involve a combination of activities, including answering written questions, reviewing case study scenarios, preparing written reports and completing workplace projects.
